Games Y’all is a meetup presented by the Museum of Human Achievement, held every month at venues around Austin for indie devs, digital artists, and games fans. Games Y’all celebrates, amplifies, and supports the unique and underrepresented within indie games and beyond. Come play games, share what you’re working on, hang out and meet friends.
Our Current Volunteer Operators
Volunteer and Venue Coordinator
Albert is a level designer for Bethesda here in Austin and handles volunteer and venue coordination for Games Y’all. Outside of helping with Games Y’all, he has a newfound passion for Magic: The Gathering and buying books he will never read.
Web Admin
Franco relocated from Richmond, Virginia to Austin in late 2023 with a goal of making games. Joining the committee at the end of 2024, he wants to help make sure the community has a place to meet up and talk about games. Graduating from ACC’s game design program, Franco works on project after project learning the ropes of game making. When not working, he explores Austin - drawing the people, places and things he comes across.
Treasurer
Jonathan Levine joined the Game’s Y’all committee in 2020. Jonathan is a video game accessibility advocate and consultant focused on developer education and connecting them with resources. Jonathan sees Games Y’all as a fantastic community in which to elevate more disabled voices on both the developer and player side of video games.
Designer
Based in Austin since 2010, Matt is a multidisciplinary designer with experience in advertising, startups, and branding, now specializing in accessibility-focused user experience design. Outside of work, he contributes to English localizations of Japan-only games, helping previously unreleased titles reach new audiences. Matt joined the Games Y’all committee in January 2025 and is proud to help champion greater diversity in the gaming community in his home state of Texas.
Project Manager
Myriam joined the committee in 2025 as a project manager to help organize the many tasks that go into running an organization. While at her day job she is a Games Technical Producer with a specialty in Analytics, Accessibility and Backend Operations she also has an embroidery hobby and loves her dog. Even though she currently works in AAA gaming, Myriam has a deep passion for indie games and loves seeing all the wonderful projects made locally.
Games Coordinator
Patrix joined the Games Y'all Committee in January 2025. Known for making indie games by moonlight and designing educational products by daylight, Patrix is always looking for new games, experiences, and peripherals. Hit 'em up any time about cool projects or ideas you've got cookin’!
Community Outreach & Collaboration
One of the newest members, Trii joined the committee in January 2025. Trii is a queer/trans Latinx game design student with a passion for community-building and solidarity. Their role on the team is 'Outreach and Collaboration' as they believe community is our greatest technology. In their personal life, they love socializing, hosting potlucks, and doing game nights! Basically your neighborhood hope dealer.
Committee Chair
Will Monroe has been Committee Chair since Jan 2025. He is the founder of Kodiak Games, 2023 Playdate Community Award winner for Best Narrative Game and 2024 Playdate Community Award winner for Best Soundtrack. He is passionate about games in all forms but particularly interested in new and underrepresented narratives and helping to make game development something that everyone can be a part of.
History
From 2010 to 2018, Juegos Rancheros was a monthly meetup for indie game developers and the primary curator and organizer of Fantastic Arcade, which took place every September alongside Fantastic Fest, the yearly genre film festival put together by Austin's Alamo Drafthouse.
In 2019 Fantastic Arcade merged with The Museum of Human Achievement and presented the Fantastic Arcade Retro(spective). Read more about the two orgs joining forces here.
In 2020 the new Fantastic Arcade committee gathered input from the community to build a more inclusive and supportive indie game community in Austin. Read about the process here.
