Experience your first ever critique as a Graphic Design student. Spend the morning working through your nerves, talking to friends, and prepping to present as you make your way through the halls to class. As you discuss your project, respond to critiques from students and professors to the best of your ability without taking it personally. See how your decisions and reactions effect the presentation, and remember to keep it professional!

About the Developer

I’m a senior Communication Design student at Texas State University. My academic and professional focus is in UX/UI, and I have experience in painting and illustration as personal creative outlets. I’m playing Baldurs Gate 3 right now, (slowly,) and have my sights set on Disco Elysium when I have the time, but I primarily have been playing any small indie games I come across on itch.io that catch my eye.

When the Rabbits Sleep: A Narrative Game about Ōkunoshima’s Hidden Past places players in the shoes of a young girl working on Ōkunoshima during the Pacific War. Through daily tasks, interactions, and mini-games, the game reveals the hidden realities of labor, secrecy, and chemical production long kept from the public. Between days on the island, players also experience life in the future, guiding a mother as she navigates the lingering effects of the island’s secrets. When the Rabbits Sleep explores how withheld history shapes lives across generations and invites reflection on what remains unspoken.

Astra is a young wizard attending Moonrise Academy, a famous but rigorous school best known for its night classes, in dreams of becoming a well-known wizard capable of complex and difficult spells and magic. However, one fateful chilly December evening, Astra overslept and woke up late to his class. Your objective is to help Astra collect all 8 of his items needed to pass his final exam in under 10 minutes. Will you be able to help Astra pass his final exam, or run out of time?

About the Developer

I am a graphic designer from Brownsville, TX interested in UI/UX for video games, typography, branding, and illustration using Adobe programs such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Figma! The closer I get to graduating in Communication Design, the more I find graphic design for video games fascinating and an art field I’d really love to pursue. I had a ton of fun creating Dormlight Dusk on Figma and hope to continue the art of game development in the future!
